During pregnancy you have a great deal to do sometimes the changes can cause irritation or discomfort and sometimes you may be worried and concerned. There's rarely any need of alarm, you should mention anything that's worrying you to your Maternity team.
COMMON MATERNITY HEALTH CONDITIONS.
1 urinary tract infection
2 mental health conditions
3 high blood pressure
4 obesity
5 weight gain
MOST IRRITATING
1. CONSTIPATION IN PREGNANCY : the hormonal change In your body may cause you to become constipated in very early pregnancy.
Preventive measures
Eat food that are high Fibre, such as whole meal, breads and cereal, fruit and vegetables in addition to pulses such as bean and lentils.
2. CRAMP IN PREGNANCY
cramp is a sudden and sharp pain usually in your lap and feet, it's most common at night, regular gentle exercise in pregnancy particularly ankle and leg movement will improve your circulation and may help prevent cramps
Preventive measures
a. Bend and stretch your foot vigorously up and down 30 times.
b. Rotate your foot 8 times one way and 8times on the other.
c. Repeat the other foot.
3. FEELING FAINT IN PREGNANCY
you may feel faint while pregnant this is due to hormonal change. Fainting may when there's low blood and oxygen supply in the brain. If you feel faint quickly get sitted gently or when lying on your back turn to your side and lay.
Preventive measures
1. Try to get slowly after sitting or lying down.
2. If you feel faint even standing find a sit and seat if it didn't go away lie down on your side
3. FEELING HOT IN PREGNANCY
You're likely to feel warmer than usual during pregnancy this is due to hormonal change and an increase in blood supply to the skin you're also likely to sweat more.
Preventive measures
1. Wear loose natural fibres clothing.
2. Keep your room cool and add electrical fan.
3. Wash frequently to help you fill refresh.
4. INCONTINENCE IN PREGNANCY
Its a common problems during and after pregnancy. You must be unable to prevent a sudden sputtering of pee when you cough, sneeze or laugh just u need to move suddenly or just get up from sitting position.
5. SKIN CHANGE
hormonal change taking place in pregnancy may make your nipple area and area surround it to be darker. Or even your skin color may also be darker on patches or allover. You may develop a dark line down middle or your stomach. This change will gradually fade away after birth, though your nipple may remain in little darker.
Preventive measure
_ protect your skin with a high sun screen and don't stay in sun for a long time.
6. VARICOSE VEIN IN PREGNANCY
Veins that have become swollen they can be uncomfortable but aren't harmful. They most commonly affect leg vein.
Though rare, you can also get varicose veins in your vaginal opening, although it get better after birth.
Preventive measures
1 avoid standing for long periods of time
2 try not to sit with your leg crossed
3 avoid too much weight in your legs
Also, we gave some problems that doesn't call for serious attention but when neglected can be complications this are:
1. Headache
2. Tiredness and sleeplessness
3. Stretch marks
4. Nose bleeding
DANGER SINGS
1. Vaginal bleeding
2. Convulsions
3.severe headache with blurred vision
4. Severe abdominal pain
5. Fast and difficult breathing
COMPLICATIONS DURING PREGNANCY
1 ectopic pregnancy
2 placenta complain
3 pre-eclampsia
4 eclampsia
5 amniotic fluid complain etc
WAY TO AVOID PROBLEMATIC PREGNANCY
1. Attend appointments regularly
2. Make a health a priority
3. Quit smoking and alcohol drinking
4. Avoid harmful foods
5. Maintain a healthy weight
